You can see the raw materials the “lucky” new owners have to deal with in the gallery above or, even better, come along on the video tour with Vanguard Properties agent Kevin Ho. Ho points out some of the home’s highlights, like its Edwardian facade and nearly 10-foot-ceilings, but doesn’t skip over its problem areas either. “They’re both in rough shape,” he sums up before entering the upper unit, where he says, “pretty much nothing is salvageable.”He walks through the upper unit’s rooms, pausing at a “sunroom” at the back of the kitchen with yellow “Caution” tape on its doors before heading down to the separate entrance for the lower unit. Ho breezes past the living room with about four different paint colors on the walls and briefly mentions the boarded up window in the dining room before getting to the heart of the matter. “You’re probably going to have to,” he starts, before correcting himself, “Well, I mean, not even probably. You will have to gut everything here and take it down to the studs, and then some. It’s a pretty fun project, actually….a definite diamond in the rough.”
